As Hurricane Season begins, it is important to remind our friends and colleagues to not only stock up on food and batteries but to also protect your valuable documents.

Not only those documents at home (birth, marriage, death certificates, passports, etc) but at the office too (letters of incorporation, share certificates, active client work).

Often it is the office that is forgotten in the rush to prepare. Make sure your have a flash light AND batteries at the office for power cuts. Make sure your workstations AND server are on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units that are powerful enough to give you time to properly shut down your workstations and your server. Are your key electronic documents and data backed up somewhere OFF SITE, ideally out of state?
